NHS Digital needed to improve the efficiency of triage across its systems as part of its Urgent and Emergency Care Digital Integration (UEC DI) programme. The programme required specialist analytical capability to collect, link and analyse 111/999 data at a national level, using advanced analytics, statistical modelling and data science to generate actionable insights for improvement.
The challenge was not simply finding technical expertise, but bringing together a combination of niche skills quickly enough to support a time-critical programme without creating resource gaps that could affect delivery.
The Project
SATIGO was appointed to provide a specialist Data capability, supporting the NHS Digital Data Workstream Team across:
- Advanced analytics and statistical modelling
- Advanced SQL and SAS
- Data linkage and management
- Power BI and Tableau
- Data science and specialist programming
- National-scale 111/999 triage analytics
Our Delivery Approach
SATIGO used its specialist digital community and forecasting processes to identify and coordinate the right combination of skills for the programme. Rather than relying on a single discipline, the delivery model brought together a multidisciplinary team spanning data science, analytics, data management, visualisation and niche programming.
Resource requirements were monitored throughout the engagement, allowing SATIGO to anticipate demand and maintain the specialist capability required as the programme progressed. This provided NHS Digital with flexible access to niche expertise while maintaining continuity across a time-critical delivery environment.
The Outcome
SATIGO provided the specialist capability required to support the UEC DI programme, with the multidisciplinary team meeting delivery requirements without delays to project deliverables. The engagement gave NHS Digital access to a broader range of advanced analytical and data skills, supporting the development of national-level insights from 111/999 triage data.
